Brief Description of Items Choreographed
Specially for Mahari Repertories.
1. Mangala Arpana
Starts MAnch Pravesh, then Puspanjali,
Bhumi Pranam, Sava Abahana followed by Samarpana Nrutya and hyne for Goddess
Saraswati. The number is rounded of with Trikhandi Pranam.
2. Sudha Nrutya Khanda
This is aa five piece composition coprising
of Chaturasra, Trisra, Mishra, Khanda, and Sankirna Jatti of Ektali.
3. Swara Parija
The item is still under experiment.
However, four to five minutes demonstration can be given.
4. Pankti Pallavi This
is designed with characteristic movement of Mahari Style combined with
grace, vigour and light Vramaries in Rag. Mishra Sankara Varanam. 5.
Nava Bharamari Nrutya Item of 7
minutes duration have been choreographed depicting 9 Bhramaries as a part of
morning ritual at Aruna Stambha of Lord Jagannath. 6.
Natya Rupa Ardhanariswara This is
a renovated item where Lasya and Tandava are performed independently in left
and rigth halves of the body respectively and uses Sabda Swara Pata. 7.
Karana of Natya Sastra KAranas
described in Natya Sastra are being choreographed in Odissi style under the
guidance of Sri Direndra Nath Patnaik, Ex-Secretary, Sangeet Natak Ekademi
who is also giving guidance for my Project work.
